Youth Fassstpitch Program Rules
2009
ALL STAR SPORTS
CHAMPIONSHIP SOFTBALL SERIES
QUALIFYING FOR USSSA WORLD SERIES
In respect for the high
level of play and number of teams, Arizona has been awarded berths for each
age division, and classification (“A” & “B”) by USSSA, to play in their
Championship Events. Teams will have the opportunity to earn a berth to
attend these tournaments in 2009.
- All teams must be registered with USSSA and be in full compliance
with all USSSA national and state rules.
-
All Arizona tournaments will be USSSA World Series Qualifiers.
a. One berth to the tournament champion.
b. One berth
to the tournament runner-up.
c. Two additional berths if the division is 12 or more
teams.
- TO QUALIFY
for the Arizona State Tournament, an Arizona team must:
a. Play in a minimum of two USSSA tournaments between August 1 and the state tournament or
b. Play in one USSSA sanctioned league or
c. Win a USSSA World Series National
Qualifier berth.
Please note: Any Arizona team winning a
USSSA World Series National Berth must play in the Arizona State
Tournament in order to advance to that Championship Event. A team’s
division played in at the state tournament will be the division they will
play in at the USSSA World Series.
- TO QUALIFY for the USSSA World Series, an Arizona team must play in the
state tournament, meet all of the above requirements and:
a. Be the State tournament champion or
b. Have won a USSSA World Series berth.
- CLASSIFICATION designation requests are due the Monday prior to the state tournament.
Teams may request which classification designation (“A” or “B”) they wish to
be placed. The Fassstpitch Staff will review all requests. The Fassstpitch
staff reserves the right to place a team in either classification. A team
may appeal this placement to the Arizona USSSA Fast Pitch State Director.
The Fast Pitch State Director’s decision is final.
- ROSTERS will freeze the Thursday before the state tournament. Copies of birth
certificates and parents signatures will be required for the state
tournament. Any roster additions or deletions, after the state tournament,
will follow current USSSA rules. All roster changes after the state
tournament, for teams going to championship events, must be made in writing
to the Arizona USSSA State Fast Pitch Director.
